Its about time...

Well, last tuesday Feb 03,2009 was the oath-taking of the WPPP new set of officers. We had invited fellow photographer Atty.Raymond Fortun to be our photo contest judge and Induction officer.The event was supposed to be formal and not the usual loose social club gathering.They asked me to prepare a speech which I've attached.  It was such a memorable event for me cause this my last day as president of the organization. We started as usual with prayer and followed by dinner while registration of entries are done simultaneously . Madge Lejano was also invited to share a topic regarding photo make-up. It was a fun evening for us. Almost 100 percent attendance. Though, I still sit as a board-member and I get to head the Sports Committee. Below is the speech that night.

My Farewell Speech

Good evening fellow photographers

For two years, it has been my honor to serve you.

Tonight, with a thankful heart, I have asked for a final opportunity to share some thoughts on the journey we have traveled together.

Allow me to share with you our achievements:

1.  Photo Congress 7^th 2007 were I have asked the help of Mr. Carlos Mariveles to help us find a foreign speaker and through Mr. Lito Sy we got Ryan and Martin Schembre

2.  We have hired a professional accountant by the name of Cesar De Guzman.

3.  We have doubled our membership by accepting new applicants.

4.  We have renovated our website to rid of delinquent members.

5.  We have revised the bi-laws that I believe you will approve tonight.

6.  We have started a program were members are encouraged to share their skills and techniques in a 30min. presentation during club meetings.

Like all who became president before me, I have experienced setbacks. There were some decisions I have made that were good and some were bad.

For two years, we have so many plans and some pushed through and some did not.

We took some drastic measures to keep the club going and some even critized us but look we are still here together.

There are things I would do differently if given the chance. Yet I have always acted with the best interests of our club in mind.

I have followed my conscience and done what I thought was right.

You may not agree with some decisions I have made.

But I hope you can agree that I was willing to take the risk.

There were also times were I felt giving up but in the end my friends advice prevailed.

Tonight I am filled with gratitude - to the board members of the 2006-2008.

Also I would like to thank you all for the trust you have given me and the board members.

It has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve you as president.

I join you in offering my best wishes to President-elect Lito Sy and the new set of officers.

And so, my friends again I ask you, let us support the new set of officers. This is our club. We have to do something. Let us support one another.

May the Lord Bless and Watch over you  and your loved ones this Christmas 2008  And may He prosper and bless the work  of your hands in the New Year 2009.!!!!  Location at LaMesa Eco Park By Bern Mejias Let’s all remember: Jesus is Better than Santa  Santa lives at the North Pole.  JESUS is everywhere.  Santa rides in a sleigh  JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.  Santa comes but once a year  JESUS is an ever present help.  Santa fills your stockings with goodies  JESUS supplies all your needs.  Santa comes down your chimney uninvited  JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.  You have to stand in line to see Santa  JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.  Santa lets you sit on his lap  JESUS lets you rest in His arms.  Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"  JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.  Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly  JESUS has a heart full of love.  All Santa can offer is HO HO HO  JESUS offers health, help and hope.  Santa says "You better not cry"  JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.  Santa's little helpers make toys  JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.  Santa may make you chuckle but  JESUS gives you joy that is your strength.  While Santa puts gifts under your tree  JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.  It's obvious there is really no comparison.

Prayer!!!

Dear Lord, I thank You for this day, I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me.. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you.

I ask now for Your forgiveness. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm. Help me to start this Day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day to clear my mind so that I can hear from You. Please broaden my mind that I can accept all things. Let me no t whine and whimper over things I have no control over.
And give the best response when I'm pushed beyond my limits.

I know that when I can't pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak... Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are lost and can't find their way. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don't know You intimately. I pray for those that don't believe.

But I thank you that I believe that God changes people and God changes things. I pray for all my sisters  And brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace , love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than God. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.
I pray that these words be received into the hearts of every eye that sees it.

Sometimes you Really want to share a thought or two. A little food for thought.......

I BELIEVE   A Birth Certificate shows that we were born   A Death Certificate shows that we died   Pictures show that we lived!   Have a seat . . . Relax . . . And read this slowly.   I Believe...   That just because two people argue, It doesn't mean they don't love each other. And just because they don't argue, It doesn't mean they do love each other.    I Believe... That we don't have to change friends if We understand that friends change.    I Believe... That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.    I Believe... That true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance.   Same goes for true love.   I Believe... That you can do something in an instant That will give you heartache for life.    I Believe... That it's taking me a long time To become the person I want to be.    I Believe... That you should always leave loved ones with Loving words. It may be the last time you see them.   I Believe... That you can keep going long after you think you can't.    I Believe... That we are responsible for what We do, no matter how we feel.    I Believe... That either you control your attitude or it controls you.    I Believe... That heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.    I Believe... That money is a lousy way of keeping score.    I Believe... That my best friend and I, can do anything, or nothing and have the best time.    I Believe... That sometimes the people you expect to kick you When you're down, will be the ones to help you get back up.    I Believe... That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry,  But that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.    I Believe... That maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had And what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.    I Believe... That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.   Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.    I Believe... That no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.    I Believe... That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, But, we are responsible for who we become.    I Believe... That you shouldn't be so eager to find Out a secret. It could change your life Forever.    I Believe... Two people can look at the exact same Thing and see something totally different.    I Believe... That your life can be changed in a matter of Hours by people who don't even know you.    I Believe... That even when you think you have no more to give, when A friend cries out to you - you will find the strength to help.    I Believe... That credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.    I Believe... That the people you care about most in life are taken from you too soon.     'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; They just make the most of everything.   Thank you God for all the wonderful people who help us throughout the journey of life..
